Nature:
-Appearance: colorless liquid
-Density: 0.764g/cm³
-Boiling point: 174-177 ° C
-Melting point:-8.2 ° C
-Solubility: Soluble in organic solvents, slightly soluble in water

Use:
- 1,3, 5,7-tetrmethyl-adamantane is mainly used as a solvent for organic synthesis reactions, and is often used in alkylation reactions, diazotization reactions and elemental silicidation reactions in synthetic chemistry.
-It is also an efficient extractant that can be used to separate, purify and concentrate compounds.

Method:
- 1,3, 5,7-tetrmethyl-adamantane is usually prepared by the reaction of tetrachloromethane (CHCl4) and methylated adamantane (CH3Cl) under alkaline conditions.
-The specific preparation step is to add tetrachloromethane and methylated adamantane to a solution of alkaline catalyst (such as sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide) at a lower temperature (usually 0-5 ° C), and then separate, distillation and other steps, and finally get pure 1,3, 5,7-tetrmethyl-adamantane.

Safety Information:
- 1,3, 5,7-tetrmethyl-adamantane is a colorless liquid at room temperature, not easy to burn, but has low volatility, so avoid inhaling steam or mist. May be harmful to human health in large doses or long-term exposure.
-Wear suitable personal protective equipment such as protective gloves, safety glasses and protective face mask when used. Operate in a well-ventilated area, avoid direct contact with skin and eyes, and properly dispose of waste.
